A request for an explanation of Geocaching forms the basis of most of this episode. It’s a hobby we love – not only because it’s good fun, but also because it gets us, and the kids, out of the house, whatever the weather!
Some might describe it as using multimillion pound satellites to find tupperwear, but honestly there’s so much more to it than that. And if you want to find out why Penny is posing next to a magpie then you’d better listen.
After a detour via pedestrian crossings we also ended up on the subject of tactile paving. Not something we’d ever paid that much attention to until Penny met someone at a WI festival who happened to have made an excellent film all about it for the BBC. Well worth a watch and I promise that you’ll learn something new.
Penny’s also had a busy week visiting the London Toy Fair. Board games seem to be a big thing at the moment as parents desperately try to get their kids away from screens, but how some of them are incorporating technology is fascinating too.
